Two most beneficial...

Review the exercises and practice sessions you have completed in this course. (Loving Kindness, Subtle mind, Visualization, meditation etc.) Choose two practices that you have determined to be most beneficial. How can you implement these practices in your personal life to foster “mental fitness”? Provide specific examples.

The two exercises that I found to be most beneficial was the subtle mind and universal loving-kindness practices.

These two practices for me are very simple to do daily. Universal loving-kindness is very easy to memorize a few loving sentences, close my eyes, and think of expanding my mind to new more positive areas. This practice is easy to do daily because I can do it in the car, at home, or even at work.

Subtle mind exercises it was easier to feel relaxed because of the sound track of the beach and the waves hitting the shore. Focusing on my breath helped me relax my mind and become calmer. I really like this exercise and think it’s a nice way to calm my mind before going to bed.

  1. Nellie,
I didnt choose either of these exercises. Not that they weren't beneficial, or I didnt like them, but there were others I felt helped me connect more. I wish they were easier, The repetition of loving kindness seems like it should be easy for me, but it was hard for me to visualize a person and take their pain or cleanse them of heartache. This is out of my hands, on the other hand I do this all the time. I am a very compassionate person, and when someone is really hurting weather I can help or not I get emotional about it. I wish you the best on your journey and hope you can continue to practice and advance and help people. I like how you kept your blog short and sweet! So Ill keep my comment the same :)

  2. Nellie, I chose the subtle mind, too. It actually was one of the only ones that I really benefitted from. I felt the other one you suggested was too difficult for me, because of having to say those sentences over and over. I was so conscious of what I had to say and trying to say it verbatim, that it actually stressed me out, LOL.I'm so glad that it worked for you, and others. It goes to show that this is why we should incorporate integral health, because not everything works for everyone. Ther eis no such thing as one-size-fits-all treatments, in traditional or alternative medicine. Great blog and I wish you all the best!
